Kernewek Lowender 2025: A Celebration of Cornish Culture and Community in South Australia

Where heritage comes alive—and futures are built.

Every two years, the Copper Coast region of South Australia transforms into a lively, colourful celebration of culture, tradition, and connection. This May, the towns of Kadina, Moonta, and Wallaroo once again played host to the Kernewek Lowender Copper Coast Cornish Festival 2025, drawing thousands of visitors and locals for seven unforgettable days of music, food, and folklore.

With over 60 events on the program, the festival is the largest Cornish celebration in the Southern Hemisphere—and for good reason. From the iconic street parade to maypole and furry dancing, traditional Cornish pasties, and a community decked out in 19th-century attire, this event beautifully preserves the unique heritage that helped shape the region.
